In a privileged location, on a street overlooking the Douro River and the historic area of Ribeira, Fado na Baixa ocuppies the first floors of a charming 18th-century building and welcomes you in a sober, cozy and intimate atmosphere, right in the heart of Oporto.

The live performances of Lisbon and Coimbra's Fado are taken to the stage on the ground floor of the venue, in a room licensed by the IGAC, equipped with about 50 seats. The thoughtful layout, technical features and room's decór ensure harmonious access to all seats, even for people with reduced mobility, providing all the conditions for a premium experience.

Those who visit us can also explore the top floor, where you can buy Fado related articles, which are the result of a careful selection made by our musicians, fadistas and staff.

Fado na Baixa is also the home of our school, with portuguese guitar, viola and singing lessons, bringing to the historic area of Oporto the permanent and incomparable sound of guitars and Portuguese Fado.

Easily accessible by public transport – São Bento’s Station, with connections to almost the entire city, is five minutes walk – and with numerous car parks, prestigious hotels and restaurants around, Fado na Baixa is in Oporto’s epicenter. You can visit us following a cruise on the Douro River, a stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage Ribeira do Porto, or after a visit to the famous Port Wine cellars, located on the opposite side of the river. Also within walking distance are some of the city’s main historical monuments and museums, such as Palácio da Bolsa, São Francisco Church, Mercado Ferreira Borges, Alfândega Museum, D. Luis Bridge, the Cathedral, the Clérigos Tower, the Lello bookstore or the Majestic café.
