Born in Braga, Ana began her musical studies at the São Souto Primary School and she later joined the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga. A few years later, she would end up studying at the University of Aveiro and ESMAE, in Porto.
From 1999 to 2013, she was dedicated to artistic teaching and musical performance as a singer, choral director and artistic director of numerous projects of classical, popular, traditional, jazz and children’s music.
Her first contact with Fado happens in 2012 with the project Dualogum. The experience awakens the curiosity and the desire to deepen the knowledge in the area and, two years later, Ana Ferreira becomes a resident singer and pianist in the Fado Afternoons of Quevedo Port Wine.
In 2015, she is a contestant in Bragafado and wins the Viana Canta o Fado contest the following year. She then becomes a regular participant in Fado events and Fado nights in Viana do Castelo, Valença, Melgaço, Monção, Braga and Alto Minho.
Since 2016, by the invitation of the musician Joaquim Caniço, she’s been touring regularly in Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany, accompanied by Miguel Braga (Portuguese Guitar).
Ana Ferreira won the 4th Fado Competition of Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos in 2017 and has been a regular presence in several hotels, restaurants and Fado houses ever since. She’s currently part of the cast of resident Fado singers at Santo Fado (in Porto), FATUM (in Valença) and Adega do Lagar (in Covas).
